Devonshire Square's Diwali Festival

7/11/2018: 5:00 PM

Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights, represents a fantastic opportunity for WeWork’s Devonshire Square to celebrate both its history and the 10-year anniversary of its iconic Indian restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen. Devonshire Square will be marking this special day by hosting in its atmospheric Western Courtyard a FREE attendance festival that showcases some of India’s most traditional visual arts, Rangoli, and a dance show performed by some of the finest Indian folk & classical dancers in UK. During the event, which will take place on 7th November from 5pm to 7.30pm, guests will also be able to enjoy a complimentary tasting experience of Indian confectionary preparations and canapés, served with rose milk, the traditional Indian drink made with pure rose essence, courtesy of Cinnamon Kitchen.

  • "Cue for Change" Pool Tournament

From 15th to 25th August Devonshire Square will be proudly hosting in its historic Western Courtyard the second edition of the popular pool tournament “Cue for Change”. The tournament, organised by the Devonshire Square Events Team, will support national charity Dame Kelly Holmes Trust with whom Devonshire Square launched a highly successful charitable partnership last year. The tournament is based on a “Winner stays on” rule with challenges taking place each day from 3.30pm to 5pm on two of the three pool tables, with the two remaining players battling each other to become the “Winner of the Day”. All three tables will be open for use for the rest of the time over the 10 day period. The “Grand Final” will take place on Thursday 25th August at 12.30pm and the prize giving will be conducted by 4-time British Champion and Commonwealth Silver Medallist, GB Judoka, Theo Spalding McIntosh (https://www.damekellyholmestrust.org/athlete/theo-spalding-mcintosh/). The overall winner will enjoy a huge and delicious 4feet Giantini Cocktail offered by Devonshire Square’s iconic restaurant Devonshire Terrace. The games will cost £1, with all proceeds going towards supporting Dame Kelly Holmes Trust (https://www.damekellyholmestrust.org/). Founded by the Olympic double gold medallist in 2008, to support both athletes and young people, the charity focuses on getting young lives back on track by using world class athletes to engage, enable and empower young people facing disadvantage. Enrolment The tournament is open to anyone and a subscription fee is not required. However, participants should register in advance by sending an e-mail to frontdesk@devonshiresq.co.uk or by contacting the DSQ Events Team on the following number: 02076450866.
