Devonshire Square’s Easter Tree dedicated to The Honeypot Children’s Charity

As Easter approaches, WeWork Devonshire Square will be marking the festivity by hosting a lustrously colourful Easter Tree in its iconic Avenue. The artistic installation was created by the Devonshire Square Events Team in 2015 with the aim of raising awareness and funds in support of The Honeypot Children’s Charity and has been on display annually ever since, during the Easter period. The Honeypot Children’s Charity is a UK based organisation that has been working since 1996 to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and young carers aged 5-12 years. Being the result of a collective project, the installation has been conceived as a visual hymn to childhood and symbolises the joyfulness, togetherness and light-heartedness of this season of life, that children from any background should be able to enjoy. The hundreds of real eggs that decorate the tree have been creatively hand-painted in naïve style through a range of painting techniques including water, oil and acrylic painting, along with natural dyes from red and yellow onion skins. This year’s installation promises to bring a vivid splash of colour to the historical campus as the whole community of WeWork Devonshire Square will be participating in the project by hosting daily artistic egg-painting workshops with the aim of painting 1000 eggs to decorate the tree. The workshops will take place from Wednesday 3rd to Friday 12th April, from 1pm to 3pm, on weekdays only and they are open to anyone. Everyone within the Devonshire Square’s community and all external visitors are warmly invited to join WeWork Devonshire Square in their #1000EggPaintedChallenge to raise awareness about the fantastic work that the Honeypot Children’s Charity does to offer both respite breaks and outreach support to young carers and vulnerable children. Donations in aid of the charity can be made on line through the following link: http://www.honeypot.org.uk/donate-now/ and collection boxes will also be available on all Devonshire Square’s reception desks during the Easter period, from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5.30pm. The Easter Tree has been sponsored with contributions from DSQ based restaurants Old Bengal Bar, Fish Market, New Street Grill, New Street Wine Shop and Cinnamon Kitchen. The tree will be on display in Devonshire Square’s Avenue from Tuesday 16th to Tuesday 23rd April.

    A CITY SUMMER OASIS FILLED WITH WINE London Wine Week is returning to Devonshire Square this June but with a few exciting new twists! From 5th to 9th June Devonshire Square will once again be hosting the hub of London Wine Week as the festival brings a plethora of global pop-ups to the square and involves our resident wine bars. As the home for London Wine Week, expect brand new names such as Wines of Argentina who will be shipping their vibrant Latin American lifestyle and vintages across to London in the form of a deconstructed shipping container-turned-bar, as well as some favourite regions of previous years including Vins de Provence, with their sun-soaked rosés, and Wines of Portugal, with their fresh whites and complex reds. Devonshire Square will also return as the festival's festival pass collection point from Monday to Friday. All pop-ups will be serving £5 wine flights for LWW festival pass holders.   • ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK - Wine tasting event

    In celebration of the Real Wine Fair, join New Street Wine for their Orange is the New Black Tasting on Monday 8th May at 7pm. They will be hosting Dario Princic Wines for their exciting orange wine tasting. They will have his son Andrea Princic (the current winemaker) and his partner Savina Radikon there to walk guests through their fascinating wines. The wines on show will be Princic Vino Bianco ‘Trebez’ (Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio), Princic Vino Bianco Ribolla Gialla, Princic Vino Bianco Jakot (Friulano), Princic Vino Bianco Pinot Grigio.
