Devonshire Square’s Easter Tree dedicated to The Honeypot Children’s Charity
16/04/2019 - 23/04/2019 5:00 PM - 5:00 PM
As Easter approaches, WeWork Devonshire Square will be marking the festivity by hosting a lustrously colourful Easter Tree in its iconic Avenue.
The artistic installation was created by Devonshire Square‘s Events Team in 2015 with the aim of raising awareness and funds in support of The Honeypot Children’s Charity and has been on display annually ever since, during the Easter period.
The Honeypot Children’s Charity is a UK based organisation that has been working since 1996 to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and young carers aged 5-12 years.
Being the result of a collective project, the installation has been conceived as a visual hymn to childhood and symbolises the joyfulness, togetherness and light-heartedness of this season of life, that children from any background should be able to enjoy.
The hundreds of real eggs that decorate the tree have been creatively hand-painted in naïve style through a range of painting techniques including water, oil and acrylic painting, along with natural dyes from red and yellow onion skins.
This year’s installation promises to bring a vivid splash of colour to the historical campus as the whole community of WeWork Devonshire Square will be participating in the project by hosting daily artistic egg-painting workshops with the aim of painting 1000 eggs to decorate the tree.
The workshops will take place from Wednesday 3rd to Friday 12th April, from 1pm to 3pm, on weekdays only and they are open to anyone.
Everyone within the Devonshire Square’s community and all external visitors are warmly invited to join WeWork Devonshire Square in their #1000EggPaintedChallenge to raise awareness about the fantastic work that the Honeypot Children’s Charity does to offer both respite breaks and outreach support to young carers and vulnerable children.
Donations in aid of the charity can be made on line through the following link: http://www.honeypot.org.uk/donate-now/ and collection boxes will also be available on all Devonshire Square’s reception desks during the Easter period, from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5.30pm.
The Easter Tree has been sponsored with contributions from DSQ based restaurants Old Bengal Bar, Fish Market, New Street Grill, New Street Wine Shop and Cinnamon Kitchen.
The tree will be on display in Devonshire Square’s Avenue from Tuesday 16th to Tuesday 23rd April.
24 October: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights, represents a fantastic opportunity for WeWork’s Devonshire Square to celebrate its historic link to India and the magnificence of India’s arts and culture, as well as its delicious cuisine. On 24th October, from 5pm to 7.30pm, Devonshire Square will be marking this special celebration by hosting in its atmospheric Western Courtyard a FREE attendance festival that showcases some of India’s most traditional visual arts, Rangoli, and a dance show performed by some of the finest Indian folk and classical dancers in UK. During the event, guests will also be treated to a complimentary tasting experience of Indian confectionary specialties, courtesy of Devonshire Square’s iconic Indian restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen, founded by internationally acclaimed celebrity chef, Vivek Singh. The tasting banquet will include the “Odyssey Rose Nectar”, an exquisitely delicate, velvety drink inspired by traditional Indian rose milk made with pure rose essence, exclusively created for Diwali by Cinnamon Kitchen’s mixology artists.
